Each session is for one child. Siblings may be booked in consecutive sessions for an additional price per child.

To Reserve an Heirloom Portrait Session:

1. Let's Connect

After you've viewed the portrait gallery, submit the contact form to receive pricing brochure and check availability.

2. Reserve and Plan

Reserve a session by paying a deposit of one-half of your session fee. We'll then schedule a short phone call to collaborate on session styling and details. The remaining half is due two weeks before your session. If your session is less than two weeks out, the full session fee is paid.

The session fee covers pre and post session consultation time, my creative and editing efforts spent during and after your session, and online ordering gallery.

3. Session and Final Art

The actual time spent shooting averages about 15 minutes per child. Upon completion of your session, your online gallery will be made available to choose the images for retouching. You may order additional digitals or fine art prints.

All products - including digitals - are purchased separately after the session.

FAQ

Where are you located?

I have a studio on the second floor of my home in Collierville, TN.

How long does a session last?

Sessions are short which allows me to capture your child's personality within the window of their attention span. The goal is to make these sessions quick and easy for you and your kids while still getting the images I need. Most often it takes about 10 minutes. If a child is constantly on the move, or particularly if they are scared or shy and clinging to mom, it could take up to 25 minutes to let them warm up and get a couple of good shots. I schedule my shoots to allow for flexibility on time so we aren't rushed. For one session, plan for 25 minutes at the studio and add about 5 minutes for each additional child.

What age is best for heirloom sessions?

There is no age requirement. At a minimum, the child should have head control. Ideally, they can sit independently which is usually about 6 months. Infants would need to be held or reclined.

When do you schedule sessions?

Sessions are available on Mon-Fri. A few select Saturdays may be opened throughout the year for a premium fee.

What is included in the session fee?

The session fee includes: pre and post-session consultation time, my creative and editing efforts spend during and after your session, online gallery with final images to order prints and digitals. The session fee does NOT include digital files or prints, which are purchased separately.

How many final image will be in the gallery?

Heirloom sessions are about quality, not quantity. Depending on how cooperative a child is, I will get 2-10 unique images per child. Some will be edited in color and black and white depending on my artistic judgment and your preferences. 80% of my time for a session is spent on meticulously editing to achieve an outstanding final image of art you will love and are proud to display.

When will photos be ready?

You will receive an email invite to your online gallery in about 2 weeks. You may purchase high-resolution digital files and prints from your gallery. Your gallery will be available for 5 days. If you do not order within that time, you can reactive your gallery for an additional 5 days for a $25 fee. Print orders have a 5-10 day lab turnaround plus shipping time.

What clothing should I choose?

Whites, pastels, and light-colored neutrals look best with the white background. No or subtle patterns are suggested. The focus of these portraits is the face and expression and the clothing should compliment rather than draw the eye away.

What about shoes?

There is white flooring in the studio so please plan on removing shoes beforehand. Unless you add on an environmental session, the feet will not show, when they do, bare feet look best.

What type of lighting do you use?

For Heirloom portrait sessions, professional studio lights are utilized to deliver consistent lighting regardless of the time of day or year.

What is your cancellation policy?

Session fees are nonrefundable but may be transferred to another day if the rescheduled date is within 30 days of the canceled date if notification is given prior to your session. If you need to reschedule, please notify me asap. No-shows will be charged a $200 fee.
